چکیده
Ç DEAR Readers, Welcome to the first 2015 issue of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, starting its eighth year of publication. Each year it has enhanced its coverage and has published high quality papers on a large variety of topics in the field. Year by year the journal also receives more citations and submissions making it increasingly popular and competitive. Recently published statistics for the 2013 Journal Citation Report from Thomson Reuters shows that TLT has an impact factor of 1.22. The acceptance rate for papers submitted in 2013 was 15 percent, down from 16 percent in 2012. This issue is fully devoted to the special issue on Seamless, Ubiquitous, and Contextual learning. This special issue provoked a lot of interest in the community and received many submissions. The distinguished guest editors—Chee-Kit Looi, Lung-Hsiang Wong and Marcelo Milrad—also serve as TLT Editorial Board members. They have worked hard to select, edit and organize papers for this issue, resulting in 11 interesting papers. Their introduction to the special issue and a summary of the included papers follows. Incidentally, this issue also marks the end of TLT Editorial Board tenure of Chee-Kit Looi. The tenure of Editorial Board members is limited to two terms of three years. Prof. Looi, who joined the board during publication of the first volume, has helped to bring the journal to its current strong state and we thank him for his dedicated service. Enjoy the reading—and consider TLT as a venue to report your research!

The editor’s notes in our Journal have been so far a site for the clarification of the Journal’s policy and the task still continues. With an inclination towards solving our real world problems in language teaching (and literary studies, which I will discuss in the next issue of the Journal), we would like to take that the introduction of the concept of “life-world” to Social Sciences can be a ...

JALDA, therefore, would like to show inclination towards the view that the reality of the world is not a fixed entity standing out there to be measured by our pre-fabricated ‘scientific’ instruments. In line with Haghshenas’ argumentation, not only can theories and instruments shrink to ornamental entities but also they can turn into what Karl Popper calls pseudo-science, knowledge of an ‘ideol...
